Roll On is built and supported by one person, so replies take a few days rather than a few minutes.

If something has gone wrong, say which iPhone and which iOS version — both are under Settings → General → About — and it saves a round trip.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Roll On has no sign-up and no password. It uses the iCloud account already on your iPhone to store and sync your teams, which is also why there's nothing for the developer to hold on to.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Syncing your teams across your own devices, and sharing a team with another coach, both need you signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive turned on. The rest of the app — including the match clock and the Live Activity on your Lock Screen — works without it.

How do I add another coach to my team?

Open the team, go to Manage Team → Coaches, and create an invite code. Send that code to your co-coach however you like. When they enter it, you'll get a request to approve on your Home screen. A code nobody uses stops working after 7 days, and your phone clears it away for you.

My co-coach joined, but the team hasn't appeared on their phone.

This is usually iCloud still catching up — the invite is accepted before the squad finishes downloading. Tap Try Again on the join screen. If it's still empty after a minute or two, quit the app fully and reopen it.

Why does joining a team ask for my iCloud email?

So the manager can confirm the request really came from you before giving you access to a squad of children's details. Once you're on the team the address is visible to that team's manager and coaches only. Until then it sits, with the code, in the shared lookup area that lets the manager's phone find your request at all — and your phone deletes it from there as soon as the team arrives, or after 14 days if the request is turned down or nobody answers it. The privacy policy covers this in full.

Deleting a player, a team, or everything

Everything the app stores lives in your own iCloud account, so deleting it in the app deletes it at source. There's no request to submit and nobody to ask.

  1. One player Squad the player Player Details Delete Player Removes their profile and their whole match history, from this device and from iCloud.
  2. Part of a team, but not the team Manage Team Danger Zone Clear just the squad, just the fixtures, or just the events, and leave the rest in place.
  3. A whole team Manage Team Danger Zone Delete Team Removes every player, fixture and match record belonging to that team.
  4. Another coach's access Manage Team Coaches remove them They stop seeing that team from this point on. Anything they already have on their own device for other teams is unaffected.
  5. Everything Delete each team as above delete the app Settings your name iCloud turn off Roll On Deleting the app alone leaves your teams in iCloud, ready to come back if you reinstall. The last step is what clears them for good.
